On Wednesday, August 8th, Springhurst Health Campus, a Trilogy Health Services community, was honored to host Indiana Governor Eric Holcomb, along with other elected officials, for a roundtable discussion concerning Trilogy Health Services’ Earn and Learn programs. These programs include both CNA and Culinary Apprenticeships, and are available to employees at Springhurst Health Campus as well as Trilogy’s over 100 other senior living communities throughout Kentucky, Indiana, Ohio, and Michigan.

Through Governor Holcomb’s Next Level Jobs program, Trilogy has committed to provide training to over 1,200 Indiana residents seeking a healthcare career this year.  In partnership with regional and national educational partners, including Ivy Tech, these Trilogy employees will earn certifications that lead to new responsibilities and pay increases.  The expansion of the Earn and Learn programs is in line with the company’s longstanding tradition of providing its employees with the resources they need to grow, which have always included support such as over 1,600 scholarships already awarded in 2018, including over 100 scholarships to Ivy Tech.

“Our employees are our most invaluable resource, and we’re dedicated to investing in their future at Trilogy,” commented Randy Bufford, Trilogy’s President and CEO. “Traditionally, when people are searching for an industry in which to develop a fulfilling career, senior living is not at the top of their list. At Trilogy, we’re dedicated to changing that. These new programs are our way of supporting our team members who go above and beyond to serve our residents every day. Our CNA and Culinary Apprenticeship programs were launched in January of 2018, and we’ve already seen amazing results. I look forward to watching our employees grow in their careers and continue to make a difference in the lives of seniors in our communities.”

Already, Trilogy’s Earn and Learn programs have made a positive impact in the lives of employees at Springhurst Health Campus. Judy Wood, a CRCA with 21 years of experience, has now earned her QMA license and is in the process of completing further training and education to grow her career with Trilogy, who she has worked for since 2007. Hannah Taphorn, a graduate of Greenfield Central High School, began her career with Trilogy more recently in 2017 as a RCA. In her short time with the company, she has completed her CNA training and will begin her QMA training in the near future. These two rising stars are living proof that when a company invests in its employees, they in turn invest in their careers.

Trilogy also has plans to develop additional career pathways for its employees, including LPN, Nursing Management and Leadership, Administrator in Training, Facilities Management, Physical and Occupational Therapy, Social Services, and more. The positive effects of these pathways are sure to cause a ripple effect throughout Indiana’s economy by creating jobs that provide employees with a powerful sense of fulfilment and pride.
