Commerce, MI (October 28 2010) Doris Faught looked over at the mounds of dirt and construction equipment and said “It's wonderful, marvelous, the best thing to happen all year. We are all so excited!" Her comments echoed the thoughts of the other residents of West Winds Health Center who are watching the construction of their new home from a concrete patio that is in the current facility’s backyard, which overlooks the adjacent site of the new campus.

Trilogy Health Services (“Trilogy”), the company that acquired West Winds in May 2008, has just broken ground on the construction of a new health care facility in Commerce, Michigan, which will replace West Winds. The new campus name will be selected from recommendations provided by residents, family members and staff.

In addition to providing a more homelike environment for the residents, the new health campus will bring expanded senior services to Commerce and the surrounding communities. Services offered will include Assisted Living, Short-Term Rehabilitation, Skilled Nursing, Memory Care, Adult Day Services and Respite Care. The campus design will feature Trilogy’s “Town Square” Residential Living model, which includes a predominance of private rooms and has living areas designed as a neighborhood, creating a sense of community for each resident.

“We are very excited about taking the first step in our journey to our new home,” commented Randall Bufford, President and CEO of Trilogy. “When we purchased West Winds we began plans for building a new health campus with additional service lines of memory care and assisted living for our residents. With our recent groundbreaking those plans are becoming a reality.” Bufford continued, “At our new health campus our residents will have the benefit of living in a new home, with beautiful living rooms, private suites and other amenities. The residents and families have been anxiously waiting to see our plans come to fruition.”

“We like to say you can feel the difference the minute you walk in the door of one of our campuses, and you see it everywhere you look,” Bufford added. “From staff engagement and customer service, resident personal preferences, to the local flavors on our menus, and even the names given to our different residential hallways – everything at a Trilogy campus is focused on our customers’ preferences and helping them have strong social connections, engagement and purpose, while providing options for clinical care. Now our residents in Commerce will have the benefit of enjoying all of this in our new health campus.”
